Woodside puts foot down: dinosaur prints and plant can co-exist | The Australian

Woodside puts foot down: dinosaur prints and plant can co-exist | The Australian OIL and gas giant Woodside has expressed surprise at the heritage listing of dinosaur footprints through its proposed James Price Point LNG site but believes the two can co-exist.

The footprints were one of the natural and cultural values included by Environment Minister Tony Burke yesterday as he announced the national heritage listing of almost 20 million hectares of the Kimberley.

The dinosaur footprints, which run along the west coast of the Dampier Peninsula, include the intertidal area within James Price Point, 60km north of Broome.

  1. Now that the Wikileaks files have been completely released after the password and file names were hacked,is anyone keeping a lookout for anything that could help our cause?

Whats going on no one would answer me a lady with a dog was trying to sic the dog on me after the camera stops rolling they kept telling me to F off! what the hells going on! The lady back at the quondonprotest intersection said they must of mistaken me for a woodside
mercenary! I'm a bloody regular tourist for crying out loud and I'm all for the no gas! Very disappointed to see people behave this way.

  4. Welcome to the feral protestors of the gas project. Unfortunately these cretins believe they have more right to the land than any other being and will stoop to lows that you'll struggle to imagine. Led by the lovely Ms Middleton they are what the gas protestors have been labelled worldwide.
    FERAL.

  8. When these protesters show disrespect to the regular Joe it makes people want to side with the gas project, think they are more interested in them selfs than providing solutions and respecting others.

  9. I hope woodside rolls over the non productive filth in a bulldozer, we would pay less tax and we wouldnt have to concern over their hygenie or the fact they allowed to breed. One hand in the welfare jar and the other pointing fingers at good honest hard working Australians.

    Shame on you protesters

  10. Now when I think about it appears the bloke with the "kimbley wilderness tours" shirt on had tried to intercept my exit from the beach for em to hassle me, the day before I did see a bloke walking & sitting along the beach as I was walking & taking holiday snaps it now he must of been keeping tabs on me or something , kinda disturbing really!

  12. Well, you can hardly expect the ferals to let the facts stand in the way of a good story, can you? Apparently, they've got nothing better to do with their time than intimidate and harrass anyone in the JPP area, whether they work for Woodside or just want to go fishing. Not to mention block public roads, ignore the police, camp illegally, use the 'pristine rainforest' and 'sacred sites' as public toilets, borrow bilbies from the croc park and take photos of them, worry about when their mull crops are going to be found and stand people over in town. I wonder what their beloved leader, Joe Roe has to say about this type of behaviour? Oh, that's right - he has a criminal record as long as my arm, and not for blocking roads, so he could probably care less. Another fact conveniently ignored by the feral crowd and their green supporters. Pack of bloody clowns.

  13. Minister Burke lists 20 million hectares State looking for 2000 hectares. Looks like a reasonable request 0.01%. This infrastructure has to go somewhere if you want air travel. How many of the great hairy P's have been on a plane....100% I recon

  14. Who is the anonymous 'Feral Basher' is who is posting here? Obviously a gas supporter prepared to say whatever it takes to blacken the profile of those protesting to save country from industrialisation! Any tourist with half a brain who wanted to camp out at Quondong Point would find it impossible not to be aware of the protests, & would on arrival in the area make contact/say G'day to the protesters. Obviously in the circumstances it is basic common sense that they make their presence known. To not have done this is not only ignorant, but suspicious too. This is a poster who's primary purpose is to sling mud in the hope that some will stick.

On another note I hope all is OK with Redhand - no Hands Off Country update for a week.

  15. If your where a normal person why would you even consider saying hi to the protesters? Thats like walking into centerlink and introducing yourself.

If your going camping at Quondong you go camping at Quondong

    Shame on you protesters

  17. On other news there has been another lock on! But just minutes after the individual was whining that they weren't allowed food and water. Here's a tip bright sparks, don't lock on if you're not in it for the long haul! It's not up to the police to baby sit you.
On another note this doesn't rate as news anymore. The media are bored with it and so are the rest of the Australian population.

  18. Wow !! just heard about this lock-on in the Shanghai Daily news- fantastic you mob!! the resistance of the Broome community against these ridiculous Woodside plans is really getting the media and international attention it deserves!!

  19. Notice all the go gas/anti protestors are anonymous, too afraid to post their names?
They are acting that way because they have been tormented by the police and woodside and they have a s much rights to the land as everyone else it does NOT belong to woodside.
