WA Premier denies $45bn LNG project shelved - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)


 Fairfax Media are reporting: Woodside is understood to have advised the federal and WA governments within the last 24 hours that the Browse partners have decided not to proceed with plans to build a new 12 million tonnes a year LNG plant at the controversial site on the Kimberley coast.

However, Premier Barnett has this afternoon denied this report.




WA Premier denies $45bn LNG project shelved - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation): West Australian Premier Colin Barnett has denied he has been told by Woodside that the company has shelved its $45 billion Browse LNG project at James Price Point, north of Broome.


There are media reports that Woodside has told both the West Australian and Federal Governments it has decided not to proceed with the project because it cannot develop it profitably.
